    So what's the Versys like?

Thanks man. I can't believe that was 4 years ago already. I still ride mine daily. Rode it today as well. Still a pleasure. Still turns heads.

Bad Behaviour by Adventure Bikers In Northern Tuli

I know Sarel Sam well. I can vouch for him. No one I know has more consideration for others and love of nature than him.

    Fork Seal het ook gegroet

Jou seel is nie noodwendig moer toe nie.

C21 vs T63 vs Desert Front tires

The Desert front works in one environment only - sand. On anything else it is crap, stay away. The Desert rear on the other hand is almost the perfect dual/off-road tyre.

    Best Touring Boots?

Neither my pair nor my wife's are waterproof. If I expect rain, I revert to my old BMW boots.

    Wow....800XC

When I tested the 1200 Explorer at the launch I had the opportunity to take the 800 for a quick spin. That is one fun, complete package. I have difficulty not to go out and buy one. It will be really really hard to spend time at home if you own one of these. In fact, I am sitting on a deck in...

4 Day trip to Eastern Namibia

Very interesting. I had planned to do this stretch when I did a trip with my wife and my kid, but I chickened out. I felt that 250km of loose Boesmanland sand may be too risky fuel and water wise. I cannot wait to see what I missed.

KTM 640 Adv Top mudguard conversion

If you are wanting to convert a 2005 - 2007 low mudguard jobbie then this is what you need. One mudguard off of your choice of KTM off-roads. Couple of hundred bucks only. If you are happy to have one disc on the front only (like all preceding year models), then just remove one disc, caliper...

Is a BMW 450 X to much bike for my son

Excerpt from a test ride report. "Here's the best part, should you want to race enduro or if you just want more performance out of the bike there is a power plug housed just under the fairing. This socket without the supplied plug inserted allows the bike to run on a 41 horsepower engine map...

Is a BMW 450 X to much bike for my son

I had a cheap Kawa Z1000 shaft that I could buy when I was 16. My mother went to see the bike, almost passed out and said no way in hell. I still blame her for that. In standard seven a class mate of mine, Adolf Boshoff, raced a Yamaha FJ1200. Get him the bike, it weighs the same as the 125...

Exploring the new Explorer- Official launch report

The turning circle is fine, no issues. I pick up quickly on a crap turning circle, the 640, 950 and Versys turn like there is a world of space available.

Exploring the new Explorer- Official launch report

Interesting question. My personal preferences if I include the KTM which I know well enough; 1. Fun everyday runner  -  BM 2. Commuter  -  BM 3. Long distance adventure riding  -  Yami 4. Two up touring  -  Toss-up, but probably the Tiger for the cruise control 5. More hardcore riding  -  KTM...
