First day and night was really cold (Sutherland-2 with real feel of -7). Luckily camping gear is up to it as it also serves as my winter hiking gear. For riding it was thermal longs, T-shirt, fleece, down puffy and riding jacket with two pairs of gloves 😂

My daughter joined me again on her Honda XR 125L for a 1150km camping trip through the Klein Karoo, Tankwa and Cederberg. Five days trouble free. Oudtshoorn - Merweville - Sutherland - Tankwa - Cederberg - Ceres - Anysberg - Oudtshoorn.

@subie hy is R3000. Pricy maar ek gebruik vir hiking ook en dis goeie kwaliteit. Jy gaan nie nat reën nie. Alternatief is die FA Starlight II. Effens goedkoper (R2200) maar sy paaltjies is bietjie langer. Ek pas hom in my soft luggage met die paaltjies bo-op onder die straps ingedruk.

I’m getting the new First Ascent Helio II 2 person tent. Folds up small and fits in a top box, poles and all according to product description. Locally available as is replacement parts.

Did a Cederberg weekend hike last weekend. Did the Wolfberg Cracks and overnight at Wolfberg Arch. Some snow and ice on the higher areas. Can a leopard change it’s spots? [emoji249]
