    Husky Norden Starting hassle

Sounds like your charging voltage is good. There can be two reasons the voltage is low in the morning (should be at least12,6) 1. there’s something draining it, try disconnecting the neg terminal after riding & measure in the morning. 2. Battery is shot A normal good quality lead acid battery...

    Husky Norden Starting hassle

If it happens that often & with 2 different batteries (1 new) I would suggest checking the charging voltage, it might be too low to fully recharge your battery

When was KTM first in South Africa officially and what models were on offer?

The used 250 I bought from Butch in +-‘80 looked just like that, with the red Marzochis & fibreglass tank. Paid around R1500. Best bike I’ve owned, 6 gears & plenty power! Fitted a bigger plastic tank & new tires, ally sprocket & Regina chain which lasted as long as I had the bike! Butch was an...

A classic mini clubman, and time on my hands.

IMHO the grey sealer from Victor Reinz is WAY better & user friendly compared to RTV! It’s like the famous Kawasaki Bond grey sealer that goes on thin, “dries” quickly and doesn’t squeeze out and cause catastrophic failures as a consequence of the squeezed strings blocking oil galleries etc.

Spherical bearing on R1200gs LC front shock - options??

A top/competent engineering machine shop should be able to make an easily available part fit. If the is a standard part available with the OD slightly smaller they could sleeve the shock or enlarge the hole slightly if the OD is a little bigger. If you find the right OD but the bolt hole is a...

    Carteblanche: Bike thieves

Another example of how little interest the authorities have in crime! It’s been common knowledge for 30 years that Chokwe is the hub/Hq of stolen bikes/vehicles, same as Massingir is Hq for Rhino Poachers. Politicians are complicit. It’s all part of Organised Criime: fauna & flora poaching...

    Abandoned railway tunnels

Waterfall Boven old E.Tvl now Mpumalanga. It was a very important railway town with huge shunting yard. They also had a trip you could do by Steam Train where it winds it’s way around the mountain & through tunnels to gain altitude and transition from Lowveld, Waterfall Onder, to Highveld at...

    Abandoned railway tunnels

Built by Uncle Paul &Co. in 1901 I think, took a year! The big road tunnel next door took the TPA. 14 years to build (dates & times might not be entirely accurate but it was something my Dad often used to quote)
