    Auf geht's nach Deutschland 🇩🇪

I'd say they probably know what they're talking about, except that they might be looking at this from a business case point of view (Firearms import for distribution) as opposed to the import of a privately owned firearm. One thing I do know, the German system almost certainly foresees this...

    Auf geht's nach Deutschland 🇩🇪

Don't be in a big hurry to sell off your firearms and ammo. You'll get ZAR's for them which turns into liquid shyte when you take it to Europe. Best put them into storage and get yourself licensed in Germany, then bring them over. You won't be sorry. I guess you've done some homework on that...

    Heading for the Himalayas

I'll do what I can as and when I remember. According to previous reports, the only thing the riders needed above and beyond was beer money, and of course if you buy souvenirs, etc.

    Heading for the Himalayas

All told I'm estimating 5000 Euros. That's around 100k ZAR.. Not a cheap exercise, however you can self-build such a ride for WAY less. I think around 30k would be enough if you pool together with some mates to share costs like accommodation, bike rental, etc.

    Heading for the Himalayas

OK, it's getting real quite rapidly now. Flights booked, Tour operator pais, Visa issued, Insurances updated. Kit purchased:- **** Suit. Fairly low Budget, but fits okay, has all the usual bells and whistles and, according to Frau Guitar I "Look **** a Cosmonaut". (Which was not offered as a...

    Heading for the Himalayas

I use maps anyway as it helps me see what's coming up before I get to it (Hairpin bends, etc.). Makes it a bit safer and easier to anticipate the road ahead. I'm not sure which one I'll be using but I'll install Waze as backup to Google.

    Heading for the Himalayas

Thanks for this. Having done a few extended adventure tours, I can wholeheartedly agree, the more K@K you take along the more you have to deal with and/or carry. My take-along tool kit will be my Gerber multitool. Period. There will be a backup vehicle provided by the organiser, with tools and...

Where has your bike taken you today?

France, Germany and Luxembourg. The top photo shows the town of Schengen, where the European agreement was signed. I live in France, 5km from here. The middle picture is France. I'm standing in Germany.

Pictures that makes you wanna ride !

Not a picture but a video I slapped together using the soundtrack from my deceased friend Jason Bradley. Lots of Honne to see in this video from various rides we did.. The song is called "Dirt Road". Says it all.

Life in America - We made the move.

This looks a lot worse than it actually is. Typical Media hype making a mountain of a molehill. There's a long, narrow fairing along the line being covered by the speed tape. Sometimes it separates from the engine cowling. The speed tape is then used to temporarily seal off the gap to reduce...

    Tonteldoos to Pilgrim's Rest

I've done this route several times and can wholeheartedly agree that Caspersnek Pass is an absolute must. It's the highlight of the journey. Not grandiose in any way but it just punctuates the ride beautifully.

    Returning Biker

Hi Mike. Have you had any feedback about being able to post on forums yet? @KiLRoy I've been on here so long I can't remember the conditions for new joiners to be able to post on threads but Mike is unable to add to a thread I created for our upcoming expedition to the Himalayas..
