KTM Jedi, what would you advise for a CR250 2t, 120/18, I ride mostly hardpack/rocks and the odd trip to Atlantis/Macassar for sand riding. Rocks are usually dry sandstone or scale type sharp edged ridges.

Still good to go, mine has 43 500km and it's a 2001. Stood for 7-months, few kicks to get the fuel going after that, one kick.  Don't know why people expect the older XR's to have nada km on ::)  Jou XR is reg LX, hy behoort vinnig te gaan.

I use a Kappa universal screen, works well. The wind usually pumps between Cape Town and Worcester, without the screen my neck would be farked over any distance. Voor julle natholle wat daar in die dun lug bly sê screens is vir pissies, kom ry op seevlak teen n 45-65km/h gusting Suid-oos !

PM Stroke Her, he is selling his 2001 with way less km's, not sure of price and he rides like a girl :peepwall:  It's his second 640 adv so he knows the scoots, also did most of the work himself, knows of niggles if there are any.

I run Dunlop D606 front and Mich Desert back. Have not tried Mitas on the XR, guys who use them seem chuffed.

Looking for one or both if possible, should be in good condition without leaks.  Mine are a funny banana-like shape.....  Later models will probably fit as the frame did not change much, if at all.  Some Honda guru might be able to say if a CRF 250 or 450 radiators are the same and will fit...

I dunno, but if the XR600R and XR650L share the same frame, if so, you should be able to put pegs on the 600, my 650L had oem pegs on. Whatever you do, just don't put the pegs on the swingarm, kak design and not pleasant for the pillion. Pooratech a fitting that attaches to your frame.

Don't want to start a new thread, will do if this is deemed hi-jack :thumleft: Can the 950SM be converted to a SE.  I'd think rims, front rotor conversion (on the offroad rim) and suspension set-up/springs...  A friend is looking at buying the SM and buying second set of wheels, he is not a...

Thanks all, I'll have a look at those cases Dodo. Bloody insurance wants an asessor to check the bike first, wonder what the dwis wants to see, pannier and content is somewhere close to Calvinia!
