No permit required for Kolmanskop - was there a few weeks back, just paid and entered.  We left the bikes and gear at the gate with the guard and wandered around.  You can, however, ride the somewhat sandy road up to the main reception.  Beware sandstorms later in the day on the way to Luderitz...

Yesterday went down to Cape Point, but only got as far as the gate.  R360 per person to enter??? That's 18 quid!  Is the government using the park to pay off the national debt?  Anyway, carried on round through Scarborough where we had lunch.  Lovely spot, good coffee, many cheerful hippies. ...

Have tried Google, which throws up valeting places which is not exactly what I need, so does anyone know where I can find a jet wash site/garage near the centre of Cape Town?  The 1100 needs a (bloody) good wash before it goes home on Friday!

My Falco was transformed for me by putting the bars above the yokes. Easy conversion, makes the bike so much more comfortable to ride if you are getting a bit creaky in the joints.  Superb engine, made even better for me by fitting a Gabro Racing chip.  Sorry, slight thread hijack, but I do like...
