    coffee stand seems to be a permanent thing now they have an arrangement with the farmer.......really enjoyed their ice coffee and that area can get hot

    The Tankwa Padstal is a nice oasis in the middle of nowhere and if you get lucky you get to chat to Hein the owner.......the people are friendly and the food is nice I will always make a point of stopping here ......theres a kind of peace its hard to explain.... after a good meal and chat with...

    by the time i got to Kenhardt i was fairly gatvol of the tedious and endless ****** washed away sections of dirt road that i was grateful for the tar.....and the only incident between there and Calvinia was riding into a swarm of locusts ........it was so bad i held my hand infront of my visor...

    The Gravel R359 between Kakamas and Kenhardt had seen its fair share of rain and almost every dip in the 80km must have been a river so it was a long 80km with mud pools washes and sandy river sections.......never the less i got to Kenhardt in one piece

    On the way to Augrabies in Keimoes they were busy closing the tar road to Kenhardt as the bridge was now flooded......I knew then that i would have to find another way home....and most likely the gravel road on the other side of the Orange from Kakamas,,...... this was the route i took after...

    The Orange river was flowing strong at Groblershoop....unfortunately i couldnt find decent accommodation in the small town for my budget so pushed on for Upington and arrived there at sunset.....with a choice of places to stay and places to eat......my guest house for the night cost me R390 ront...

    Came across the Spitskop Dam in Flood and further down stream i just managed to cross the bridge half washed away to Delportshoop The gravel roads half washed away were interesting to say the least and after a few detours and not getting Petrol in some of the small places i barely made...

    Yes sorry i left that part out.......We had planned to leave together on Thursday but Rod's Boss changed the goal posts a bit and he had to attend meetings on both Thursday and Friday......He only got to Head back to Cape Town on Saturday........ So I took the scenic solo ride back to Cape Town...

    It was fine there was a short section i cant remember where exactly they were working on and we were diverted off the road next to the tar for a short bit this was also muddy but not a long piece not once was the road closed on my trip up
