    Most reliable motorcycle brand?

I deliberately waited before voting (you cannot see the results unless you vote), and true to my expectations, my vote added to most reliable brand - Honda. I have owned many bikes. The one that outlasts all the others is a CRF230 from 2005, and I have no intention to sell. In adv guise, Suzuki...

Guess who I just bumped into ?...............Noraly

The irony is that Noraly decided not to have the collarbone repaired in Africa, but in the Netherlands. Turned out that, in the Netherlands she had to wait more than a week to be operated, and was left with a punctured lung after the operation that has taken her back to hospital for two weeks...

For Sale Yamaha PW80 OEM Piston kit

I bought this OEM piston kit with piston, rings, pin, seals, gaskets, piston bearing and pin for a first replacement of piston and rings on a PW80 on the farm in 2020. When I got there my brother-in-law had sold the bike. Just looking for what I paid for it. I am sure it is more expensive to buy...

    Most reliable motorcycle brand?

There have been a few articles published on motorcycle brand reliability, but this 2023 article based on a 2015 consumer survey in the USA rated the four big Japanese brands as the most reliable motorcycle brands on the planet, with Yamaha leading the pack. BMW just beats KTM, but Triumph...

Guess who I just bumped into ?...............Noraly

Noraly is out. Had an off over a very mundane rut and broke her collar bone. Gone is her Africa trip.

Yes it does. I had to repaint my CRF300L frame after riding on the farm with boots. Will never ride again without.

Cam Wear. Any examples in SA?

My 890R has a paper filter, but with prefilter over the intake for just-in-case.

Cam Wear. Any examples in SA?

Cecil Penny fixed one for a client. Client had 1x 890 Rally, and one normal 890R. Reason for excessive cam wear on the Rally with 20K km was aftermarket air filter. The R had a paper filter and was still fine...

    My Honda CRF250L ownership experience

Just received stock of CRF250L Acerbis 12.5l fuel tanks. Makes a nice difference in distance between fillups, being able to do 300km on a tank.

Difficult to select 1st from neutral

1st needs double the amount of downward movement to get it into 1st than 2nd, 3rd etc. Just check that there is enough clearance for selecting 1st.

Difficult to select 1st from neutral

I have a peculiar thing on my 890. I am 2m tall and had to adjust the gear lever to the lowest setting to prevent ghost gears from 3rd upwards. Because of long legs, my foot does not lift the lever high enough, and it goes into a ghost gear. Terrible when using the quick shifter. I am sure...
