    Ducati bought out by Audi

Hehehe, Dan!!!! Jamjar...I mean Yamaha is yet to build a decent gearbox and use good quality Tp sensors. When a R1 comes into the shop, we on auto pilot, drain the oil and overhaul the gearbox. Ducati's on the other hand, trouble free for the last two years that I have been looking after Ducati...

XR500 IDLING: SOMETHING JUST DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT

Is the bike difficult to start after it's warmed up, or just difficult to start period? Xr's are known to have issues with exciter coils, could give similar symptoms to dodgy carb! Although if the bike idles better when cold rather than hot, it is then rich pilot circuit/needle/immulsion tube.

XR500 IDLING: SOMETHING JUST DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT

Sounds like you may have a dirty pilot circuit, to confirm, adjust the idling pretty low then turn the air in unti the motor wan's to stall, then turn the airscrew out till it idles at the highest point, if you keep turning it out the motor will start idling badly again. If you get response from...

    Beta tools

I have two 3/8 Beta wrenches, spare parts seems to be an issue and the lifetime warranty does not always apply. I prefer Snap-on, bought one in 1979, some ****** in the workshop broke it in october last year and Snap-on replaced mahala in december :3some: Speak to Gusman on the forum he can sort...

    Wicked Cycles Cape - unhappy.........????

The more I read on this thread the more I realise my business could be in trouble, seems like the consumer has all the right and the business seems to have very little if none at all. I was always under the impression that a business opens it's doors to offer a service and turn a profit, which...

    Carb settings

Correct! the pre filter will restrict air flow and would have a greater negative impact at the mid to top end range. Slip on's in my experience leans out the pilot circuit only, the main circuit will only become lean when you have a full system with excellent scavaging properties.

    Carb settings

and Neil at NS racing will lift the needles a notch too. I wouldn't do that if I were you, your problems are pilot circuit and main circuit (normally). Pilot circuit is too lean and the main circuit is rich, especially with that asthma inducing pre filter which I don't believe belongs on any...

    Misfire at 5000Rpm.

99 times out a 100, part throttle cruise misfires on 950/990 are caused by worn timing chains. Pulled the little hair I have left out with this problem.

    My bikes paint job..

Unfortunately paint will never bond on a plastic tank because of fuel vapours coming through, if you are gonna do stickers it has to perforated....about 5mm holes, this definately helps. If you google sticker kits on TRX450's it will give you an idea.

    Removing stickers

Spray Q20 on it and rub in circular motions with your finger, works fairly well!
