I have ridden both and I recon each have their own place... what I did not like about the 1190 adv is that it was becoming more like a BMW.  The KTM is supposed to be a bigger more comfortable motorcross bike! BUT ... as stated in other posts ... this change might appeal more to current 1200GS...

Not an easy call... Marquez is on a roll, but has not raced at Laguna Seca before. Cal is doing well, but he seems a bit inconsistent. Lorenzo and Pedrosa are injured. Rossi is still adjusting to the bike. Bradl also seems to be doing well. My guess would be 1. Marquez 2. Lorenzo 3...

Let us know what they say .... I am picking up my LC some time this week.  I am also fitting a top box and some other extras. Which tyres do you have on you LC?

Found a nice clip about the head shake on the LC..... this guy seems to have tested it out quite well IMO. 2013 BMW R1200GS stability vs light steering O0

I will ask the guys at the dealership tomorrow if they have heard of anything like this... Can't really figure out how the topbox can be the cause... unless it is causing the front to lighten up? ???

Yup .. I think it should.  The only time I ever had a head shake or tank slap on my 2011 R1 was when I hit 'n funny bump in the road below 200km/H... The electronically controlled steering damper only kicked in over 200km/H. A steering damper is designed to prevent head shake....

I sold my Dakar when the motor blew up on me the second time. (long story) The first engine repair cost me about R18k... the second engine repair cost the guy that bought the non-running bike from me less than R10k... he did what I should have done when the motor blew up the first time...

And the 950 kicks the 990's ***!!  So the bike to buy is..... :peepwall:

The best times set in free practice counts towards qualifying... which determines if a rider will take part in Q1 or Q2.  If the FP times are good enough, the rider does not have to take part in Q1... both Lorenzo and Pedrosa had good enough times for them not to have to take part in Q1 and...
