Had a friend of mine with the same problem. Asked him was it fine till when? His reply " Till I had a puncture" Me " Front or back" Him " Front" Me "You put it in the wrong way round !" Turns out he did and the pulse disc was on the wrong side in relation to the sensor. Problem solved!
