I would suggest that a "drilled" mousse is surely more for technical short distance stuff like Erzberg, Romaniacs etc. If the Michelin mousses can handle Dakar stages and you install them properly I can't see how they fail on the average DS / Adventure trip.

Hey Team Is the 400 EXC basically the same motor as the 520 etc? Also nicely suited for dual sport use or does the (I guess) shorter stroke make it more of a revvy trail bike? There's a nice looking one for R 25 k for sale on Gumtree...

Hey Team Hope that I can gain a bit of knowledge here... My history with bikes was a DT 125 growing up, then a long break followed by a 640 Adventure and then a TW 200. Now some of the ride reports and threads on this site make for a very compelling argument in favour of a 500 EXC / 525 etc...

I got some Hi Viz yellow vinyl and cut it up to match the contours on my matte black helmet. If you do it right it looks very cool.
