correct, I still have the cold start issue on my 890 - I went as far as buying a new battery today and that hasn't solved it.

It may be on the floor, possibly stuck in a crate, as I for one won't be buying another KTM and I'm not alone - seems that Yamaha will have the last laugh.

I think the 890 will be my last KTM, they have done a lot of damage to their brand with the lack of acknowledgement and solutions, for existing owners, with regards to the issues with the 790 and 890 motors, not a peep from KTM and that doesn't bode well. the other thing to maybe check is if the bridge on the "Middelburg" section between Loskop and Stofberg has been repaired, it was washed away some time ago. Send the sedan on the tar and then you get to do the pass on Laersdrif - that's well worth it.

1st overnight trip in 8 months :( some great riding at BezHoek, between Loskop Dam and Middelburg.

Great feedback thanks JP, really, really disappointing. KTM is doing a lot of damage to their brand and loosing a lot of loyal patrons and prospective clients, corporate BS to not acknowledge that there's a serious problem and take the hit and find a solution and fix the problem engines.

From what I've read is that the peak is actually there to take the glare off of the visor that is generally covered in a thin layer of dust, when riding offroad, thus improving overall visibility.

We didn't do that route, but went from Loxton to Sutherland and the 205km of dirt was really good, recently graded.

I use WD-40, cleans the chain lube muck off and keeps the shine on the black rims.
