All good advice above, both my kids started riding bikes between 3/4 yrs old. (Now 24 and 21) Some advise, look at 2nd hand protective kit, they grow out it fast, check your buddies for their kids old kit, some shops have opened specializing in this. Having bling kit at this stage is pointless...
