I did a 685 on mine more than 100 000km ago. Still going like a Boeing and only uses oil when I ride hard. Proper running-in is the secret and I do the first 4-500 km myself on all bikes I rebuild.

The main problem is that Cayenne was the Guzzi importers as far as I know.

Ideally, you should insert some sort of plug into the tube before welding it. The heat from the welding will cause the steel to loose it's strength and all that stuff. I'm willing to try welding it for you, but won't guarantee anything. Bracing is a good idea, but will be difficult. Give me a...
