Advice on screens - what screen do you use?

I bought my bike with a high screen, not sure which one - looks like the 333DT? Terrible turbulence on my helmet at speed. Made my own deflector. I always do, that way you can fine-tune it for your preferences. I also make it detachable: that way I can remove it quickly for technical sections...

WANTED: F800GS pannier racks (or grab handles)

Yeah, I would definitely get the Rockfox racks, but my cashflow is a bit strained at the moment. Just bought a house, son's orthodontics, etc...  :o

WANTED: F800GS pannier racks (or grab handles)

Hi, I bought my bike with DIY "pannier racks", which have now failed. I'm looking for 2nd hand pannier racks to strap soft luggage and other stuff to. Or I'd also be interested if you have the original rear grab handles. My bike is a 2009 model. Thanks  :thumleft:

Ek en die LAWALAMP. -- The LAWALAMP and I

Dankie Adie, ek geniet jou thread  :thumleft: Vragie: het jy progressive springs in die forks? Dit het 'n moerse verskil gemaak op my Dakar, maar ek is R4000 gekwoteer vir 'n paar vir die 800, so ek het eers gelos. Het al een of twee keer 'n bottom-out op die 800 gehad, en ek is nie swaar nie  :o

Differences between original and twin spark Dakar?

The biggest single irritation of the bike! At low revs, it's like an on/off switch. I'm saving up for the Booster Plug: apparently it fixes it 100%.

Differences between original and twin spark Dakar?

Get an 800GS, if you can. Quite an upgrade from the single. I got a 2009 model with 60,000km for < R60,000.

Ag nee, man, Andy! You will be sorely missed. All the best over there. Fortunately, you're a little out of the big smoke, but don't bargain on too many accessible dirt roads...

High fuel consumption on a F800GS

I have a 2009 with 63,000km on the clock, Leo Vince, Mitas E07. I ride it like a bike, not a car, but still get around 5.6 L/100km around town.

Good point, I only spotted it now. I'll point it out to my neighbour. I haven't heard from him recently, so I guess he's still looking for a bakkie before selling the bike. Will check with him. :thumleft:
