    Temperature reading stuck

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I removed the sensor, tested it on my multimeter: resistance goes up when I heat it up with the hair dryer, goes down in a bowl of ice water (or was it the other way around? ::) ). Anyway, seems the sensor is fine. Sprayed contact cleaner on the contacts...

My Shark's sun visor adjuster (on top of the helmet) broke off. I found a teddy bear nose in the kids' room with a nice aerodynamic profile  :hello2:

    Temperature reading stuck

My 800's temperature reading has been stuck on 19 C for days now. Definitely not 19 at the moment, more like 39! Note this is the ambient temp, not from the coolant thermostat. Have disconnected battery, etc. No luck. Where is that sensor located?  Any other ideas?

Fork Seals (broken) and new springs

Yeah, it does. I managed to bottom out my suspension once with emergency braking on the highway...  :o

Fork Seals (broken) and new springs

The stock 800GS springs are terribly soft. I weigh 70kg and I bottom them out regularly. On the next service, I'm going to replace them with progressive springs.

Hydraulic clutch, too, very light. I had a serious look at this when I was scouting for a new bike, but then a great 800GS came by for less  :)

    Helmet screws!

Yeah, nylon should be much tougher than plastic. If it bothers the OP, he could always weaken them by sawing a kerf into the bolt just below the head  ;)

    Helmet screws!

You can get nylon bolts from most engineering suppliers. Here in Somerset West, I fortunately have Apple Tool & Gas close by.

    The Pooratech Thread

Looks good! The only long-term problem is that paint is not really wear-resistant like powder-coating, so after repeated strapping, movement of items on the rack, etc. it will wear through. But I guess you can just touch it up from time to time. I've discovered that epoxy paint is much more...

Hero on the Stellenbosch-plated 1200GS riding through lion country

I'm sure my mind would have said: "Gas it!". Problem is that your best 0 - 100 time on a 1200GS (~3.6 sec) was not measured on gravel with a lion in front of you
