Agreed. As soon as I discover a remedy (be it fork mod or steering damper) I'll do it. I didn't get the bike for tar speeds of 180+. But clearly BMW designers tried for the best of both worlds.

Thanks, it would be interesting to see if the mods worked. I agree with Malibu, the front is too stiff for my taste off road. On the other hand, for a bike that does 200kph+ on tar, I suppose we can't have everything all the time.

The more I ride my 800, the better it gets. I simply love the thing. However, I've found that on big corrugations and embedded rocky sections, there is some serious handlebar shake which could change the colour of your underpants. This is while standing and doing about 100kph. I tested the same...
