    Xchallenge chain guide

Yes, it should be quite simple to make. My big problem is that I don't have a fixed vice in the garage. I was going to ask a mate whether he could make it for me, but that would be a few hours of his time, and for the few rand I would save, it wouldn't be worth buggering him around.

    Xchallenge chain guide

I just ordered one from Touratech SA. Price is R1120.00. Free shipping. Will have to wait till end of November as they are on order from Germany.

    Xchallenge chain guide

Well it seems that only the rubber part is available from KTM. The steel bracket part is from Touratech. There are two options. Either buy the complete unit from Touratech or buy just the rubber part from KTM and make up, or have someone manufacture the steel part. For the price of the complete...

    Xchallenge chain guide

Hi, I am looking for a chain guide for my Xchallenge. I see on page one of the Xc thread there is talk about them. I am slightly confused about the metal part of the chain guide. The rubber portion is available from KTM Durban for R180.00. Now I read in the thread that the metal bracket part is...

    Plans for my Dakar

It is all starting to take shape nicely Garrin. Hopefully not much longer and we can test it somewhere in the valley.

Now I am looking for a Xcountry side stand.

Hi, I am looking for a X Country side stand to fit on to my Xchallenge. The existing one is quite long and on level ground the bike is nearly in the vertical. Adding to the problem is my shitty driveway with an off camber and the height of the Xchallenge. So if anyone has a spare one of these...

Looking for a Xchallenge air box lid.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the heads up. I am on my way to Pinetown BMW Motorrad. I was going to order one if they were not too expensive, only to find out it doesn't fit. Can I use a UNI pre-filter with the standard paper filter? Thanks again Mark.

Looking for a Xchallenge air box lid.

Hi. I am looking for an air box cover for my X challenge. This is the cover that screws down over the air filter with three screws. I bought the bike without one and I am not to keen with the air filter open to water, whether it be riding in the rain or washing the bike. I have the 16 litre...

Irritating smiley. Whack it or don't whack it? That is the question.

Have I got it right. You put the bread board on the rim, hit it with the hammer while using the dishcloth to hold the bread board? :thumleft:

Yes we must make a plan sometime. At least if I break down, you have the tools and experience. :thumleft:

Irritating smiley. Whack it or don't whack it? That is the question.

Thanks guys for the input. It is probably safer to leave it alone for now. Maybe when I replace the tyre I can take a closer look while the tyre is off.

It basically just looks a bit shitty. The wheel still runs true without any wobbles.

And new teeth cost a lot more than new spokes. ;D

Irritating smiley. Whack it or don't whack it? That is the question.

Hi Dogs, I have a small smiley on the front rim of my X challenge. I bought it like that. With slight OCD leanings, to me it looks like a large carbuncle on Jennifer Aniston's nose. I was thinking of whacking it with a short length of wood and a rubber mallet. I am petrified of breaking a spoke...

Pro Circuit exhaust quiet insert wanted.

Hi, I wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction. I am looking for a quiet insert for my Pro Circuit T4s pipe on my DR650. This slip on is very loud and the deceleration popping can get embarrassing at times. These inserts are available mostly in the USA on line, but for what it is...

Why would a bike blow out coolant?

Hi Noneking. My 1190R blows the coolant out until it is about half an inch above the minimum mark and then that is where it stops.

X Challenge spare key. Eish, so much of money.

Thanks for the info. As soon as the bike comes back from sorting out the wheel bearings and a few other odds & ends I will check the display out, :thumleft:
