    LUBING YOUR CHAIN

My 2c. I use used engine oil and only lubricate very lightly. Then I clean the chain with a rag before riding. No fling off. In the past i got close to 100,000km on a chain. The sprockets however have to be repaced sooner. That was commuting on pavement. Now I off–road mostly and still use this...

Best off-road bike for riding into Africa?

To add to that - touring in Africa is not easy. It takes you out of your comfort zone basically all the time. I would focus on things like where to stay, money, routes etc. much more than the bike. Planning the trip and sorting out all the lagalities and taxes etc are what I would worry about...

Best off-road bike for riding into Africa?

Thing with Africa is that You don't need a fast bike. We've been up to Uganda last year and the fasted we could legally do after Moz was 80kph. I would therefore not worry about power. A 250 like the 250 Vstrom would by good enough - it would te the biggest bike by far in any of the countries...

    New Suzuki V-Strom 250 – R58,000!

I bought one a few months back and use it mainly off-road. It is fast enough for touring and I think it is super comfy for long road trips. The can is a problem when standing up, but so far I've kept it stock standard except for handle bar risers. Fuel economy is incredible at 40+km/l on dirt. I...

    New member.

I bought a 250SX which I now use for everything. It is the easiest and lightest bike I owned in a long time. Sold my NC700 cause the Suzuki can do virtually everything the Honda did and it also goes offroad - which is what I use it for most of the time.
