I don't think the seat will go that quickly on a 2006 bike. Try to clean first, will be good idea to replace the needle. Rubber can get hard or deformed. Then float height must also be correct.

Technology has come a long way. Take my ex KLR250, it was the first single 4T DS bike with water cooling (as far as I know). Launched in 1985 they even added fins over and above liquid cooling !
