I hear this advice a lot, but what will said bike cost in 5 years time (if you start saving today), and will it still be available? What bike would you have ridden in those 5 years? How much do you really save (and I am not talking about money only)? How many memories you could have made...

Unfortunately the days of buying a cheap fixer upper cash and fixing it cheap, is gone. Bikes are not as simple (and cheap) to work on anymore, and this forces many young riders to buy on credit if they want something reliable.

I suggest to firstly make sure that there isn't too much play in the throttle cable. I kept the play minimal and didn't have any issues with jerkiness.

While reliability is a huge factor, I personally think it has more to do with the dealer network. You will find a Toyota dealer in almost every small town in South Africa, but Suzuki dealers are mostly situated in bigger towns. So, you can drive a Suzuki Toyota and have it serviced at Toyota.

T7 all day every day. Easy to set up, easy to ride. One button for rear ABS. Those CP2 motors are really tough and they are not as pap as you think. F900 looks good but they are still pricey.
