As far as I know the Acerbis 6.3 gallon tank is measured in US gallons (1 US gal = 3.785 lit) so 24 liters total

24 litres in the front and 14 in the back for 38 total, I haven't worked out the range/consumption yet.

Well its supposed to stiffen up the front and make it more stable, but by how much I wouldn't know. I never rode a XR without one :-\ Only thing I can say is that she handles superbly in the desert and the front end always goes where I want to.
