    Be safe out there!

Not so lucky for the rider of this bike who reportedly lost his life near Oudtshoorn a couple of days ago. Been watching the forum for reports but it's been quiet.

11 and 12th of February, George old car show?

No Saturday pass. So Saturday is basically double a Sunday pass cost. That kind of skulduggery winds me up. Although there's historically bugger all left on a Sunday. Bring your own Vaseline...

    Perfect, thank you

    Fortnine on the DesertX

Is the horizontal part wide enough to get across your seat or have you gone behind it? Can't quite make it out from the pics and looking for tool bag options, don't have a rack on me scoot. Thanks

    Fortnine on the DesertX

Lamborghini Countach engine must come out for a service, 35 hours labour and it's really kak to drive. The Italians sure don't make stuff easy to work on, but I'd love a garage full of them, two wheels and four. Love them or hate them, there's no middle ground

    Fortnine on the DesertX

The Scrambler handbook offers the disclaimer "unless used more frequently in dusty or wet environment". Opened mine up after 2000 km of karoo gravel - there was some minor dust that I could blow out with a compressor but nothing really noticeable and definitely nowhere near dirty. The intake...

    Tankwa mudbath

No idea. Maybe someone can enquire, next time they pass the padstal

    Tankwa mudbath

No idea how to edit a post. The dot in the middle of the second pic is the Padstal. Kind of gives some scale to the pic, and this is only a small section. You imagine having to cross a deep fast flowing river or two to get somewhere. The reality is mile after mile of sometimes waist deep sludge...

    Tankwa mudbath

Tankwa took a bath this week, more coming. One guy I spoke to measured 100mm, but only because his rain meter overflowed and he couldn't have been bothered to empty it again. Some roads have gone in parts, others will be boggy for a while I suspect. These pics yesterday in the vicinity of the...

    Name and Shame?

He's not going to find a buyer at 3x market value. Even Julius could figure that out. Maybe not Jacob. Somewhere in between the two ends you both need to find a meeting point. Otherwise, good bike money gets spent on lawyers, lose-lose.

    Wanted Looking for a Garmin E-Trex 32X

The reading lense isn't tinted, it's clear. Can use them at night to read ;-)

    Wanted Looking for a Garmin E-Trex 32X

I ride with these if I really need to see detail on the GPS. About 200 bucks from fishing shops but not readily available in the platteland. Snowbee Polarised Fishing Sunglasses with 1.5+ Magnifier https://www.takealot.com/snowbee-polarised-fishing-sunglasses-with-1-5-magnifier/PLID90395723

    Fortnine on the DesertX

It's standard Duc speak in their owner's manuals. Like, in the event of a puncture, take the bike to the dealer for a tyre replacement. In fairness though, although there are plenty of tech savvy guys on this forum, your average weekend rider isn't going to want to remove the tank to get to the...

    Dit maak mens hartseer.

They used the XT350's for rider training. Were very active around town, riding in formation. Those bikes were dumped there more than 10 years ago. I guess engine parts would be salvageable but the plastics, cables etc are probably useless

    New CB500X

Exposed oil filter and radiator, exhaust under the engine, high pipes at the rear make securing bags a challenge, alloy rims, thin seat... It's a breakfast runner. Maybe scrambling means something else in Japan and Europe? I don't geddit...

    New CB500X

My mistake seems to be working out ok. Less than 190kg full, less than R100k with 5000 km on it, 6 speed box capable of doing 150kph all day on tar, twin cylinder that doesn't rattle my fillings like the thumper used to, Dwerg could flat foot it, and I can pick it up if I drop it. Sure, you have...

    New CB500X

Honda's X-ADV 750 would probably make a great little commuter, but I guess the clever folk decided we in SA didn't need that one either

    New CB500X

I waited 8 years for Honda SA to bring this in and eventually pulled the trigger on a Duke Scrambler. FFS. How many customers have they lost by not bringing in the latest line up ASAP? Like the CRF300 Rally, for instance. Market research = 0
