Carrying fuel…do you have better idea than this

Ditto. Was hoping to receive the Gen 3 but received the older version by post. Had problems with the bung. When screwing the cap on, the cap threads hook the edge of the bung and draw it out of the bag, that then pulls the cap skew and you have to start over. Ended up sanding the bung edge down...

How Far can you Ride - in a Day

In '83 I tried to do Queenstown from Joburg in one go, on an XL500S. My ass would only get me to Jamestown after 10.5 hours, all tar. Couple of years ago I did 550 on a KLR with only 80KM of that tar, same result, dead ass, but somehow it was easier. Nowadays I aim for 300 km a day max, on a Duc...

Sold Sorted TuneEcu cable for KTM

Sorry for the thread drift - if you buy from eBay UK, do they courier to your door, or ship to the post office for VAT, or do you make use of your own courier company and sort out the duties with them? Trying to figure the most cost effective way of bringing in a similar setup. Thanks

    Help

Check the routing options - direct, shortest distance, faster time. Looks like direct is selected on the device that's reading the route. Also, untick the route recalculation and lock to road options. Not familiar with My Tracks either but these are some common routing or display errors. Save...

New KLR 650 S for shorter riders

Eventually...Kawasaki copies the Eagle Mike dogbone lowering links. 10 years later. Ffs, "The Pig" is reinvented!!! In the all-time adventure bike power to weight ratio list, the pig is somewhere near the bottom. KLR gears: 1. N. 2. 3. 4. 5. 5. 5 Have they fixed the doo yet or is Eagle Mike...

Sold Garmin gpsmap 78s with ram mount

That's a seriously good price, listed 3 days after I bought a 62s. Why is it that when my ship comes in, I'm at an airport... The mounts alone will set you back R1700. Difference between the 62s and 76 is that the 76 floats (marine use as well). Free bump

MTB chain dry lube, will it work?

Chain saw oil. Cheap as chips, available at any agri and doesn't fly off. I use wax, still not convinced lubing the chain makes any difference since they're internally lubed. Just clean the grit off and go

    Hearing protection while riding

Custom plugs from Ear Institute. Probably about R1.5k now, well worth the investment. They're tuned to permit 26db. I use then for flying, riding and lawn mowing. Started too late though, damage permanent

    Klr 650 emergency repair

ah, my bad - '09 is new gen. Starter circuit relay bypass required for that model. Copied from the 'net: 1. Remove the smaller "starter circuit relay" from up behind the petcock. It is kept within a small rubber holder that hangs on a little metal tab. 2. Make a 3 inch jumper using 14g wire and...

    Klr 650 emergency repair

Sidestand, clutch and neutral light switches will all leave you stuck at some point. Easiest bypass for all is placing a jumper in the connector behind the headlight - but they don't usually cause intermittent running, only intermittent starting issues

    Bike stands

Oudtshoorn. The Abba isn't badly priced at about 2k but no local agents and I think shipping will kill it. I suppose turning the passenger pegs upside down and using garage stands is also an option but I'd prefer something better
