My African Dream - reporting from Haiti

The last couple weeks have been hectic. Lots of time spent flying, studying, and a gruelling weekend in the simulator renewing my licence. It's always odd for me to transition back to line flying after the simulator. In the simulator you know you're going to get a failure, and that puts you on...

Had a little break out the city, and discovered this hidden gem. Ice cold beers and massive homemade burgers, complete with hand-cut fries. The Hungry Otter in Tontledoos. Waar die f-- is Tontledoos? Ja nee, well, exactly... Well worth the drive.

Hi Dax, Flightradar has been incredibly glitchy lately, especially with the Airlink ERJ fleet (but maybe it's because those are the only ones I really look at 😋). It often shows planes flying backwards, or says they have been flying JNB-Kruger for three hours, when it's only a 35min flight...

My African Dream - reporting from Haiti

Today marks one year since I flew the ERJ for the first time. I already had some 30+ hrs flying it in the simulator, but that did absolutely nothing to prepare me for line flying. From the crew briefing in the morning, to arriving to a flurry of activity at the aircraft. Doing my best to do...

I can't do anything that requires a lot of flex in my toe joints, like going on my Tippie toes, or doing calf raises, planks or push ups, but I have started running again. ~willrunforcookies~

Yesterday we did Die Bosveld, a 37km MTB ride as part of the Trailseeker series. Unlike the Cradle Moon Trailseeker we did a few months ago, this one was actually a fun ride, albeit cold, windy and dusty. We were doing pretty well until we saw a lady running up the hill in a panic, asking how...

My toe has progressed from looking like a fat little sausage, to looking as if it is sporting a nice "shiner". I have managed to squat, elliptical, row, and hit the indoor bicycle. I haven't tried running yet. Just normal walking results in everything swelling up.

I wasn't expecting to wake up to -1°C 🥶🥶 Luckily the plane's wings weren't iced up ... Beautifully clear day over JHB. Rand Airport and Germiston lake. The westerlies are here, cloud factory in full production.
