Just noticed your bike is a 800xc, apologies, I assumed it was the 1200. I believe the stepper motor may need cleaning as per the other comments.

I would give your dealer a all to confirm, something not right.

Have you had the ECU replaced ? Your problem seems to tie up to those given for the factory recall on the ECU.

Would be a shame to hack a bike in that good a condition up. May be better buying that and keeping it stock for concourse. Doesn't seem like bad price for the condition and low mileage.

I had the CAT removed on my 1200 last month, but fitted an aftermarket pipe at the same time. The difference from stock set up is definatley noticeable and it also unleashes a nice little growl low down.
