The Injury Database - ATGATT Advisory

Done alot of travelling over the years in those areas..............this is a pretty common sight. Hope that she was at least wearing a helmet. (although the indo cops have clamped down on that over the last years) Glad she's recovering - gals don't really view scars as badges of honour like...

    CBR 600 F2

Ja could be. I admit that my GPZ600R back in the day needed a new chain at approx 60k km. Ridden hard, but not abused. Very light chain. That CBR motor is fantastic, as was the whole package. My mate raced one twice at IOM TT back in the 90's. But........anything can be abused, and Subie's...

Ducati Multistrada V4 clutch creeping! Thoughts?

A little bit of a necro thread, but anyway..... If the v4 slave cylinder setup is the same as the v2.........the slave sits on the crankcase casing and gets damn hot. The fluid has to be replaced regularly - the side affect of not doing so is that the clutch (dry in my case) drags. The burnt...

    CBR 600 F2

Had a think about this over the weekend.......tbh, if someone was willing to do that to the tensioner to keep it running, I wouldn't lay a hand on that motor. You can only think what other butchery has gone on inside there. Not worth it.

    CBR 600 F2

It's usually the chain that's worn - guides / blades are pretty hardy. If you do go ahead, I would try an new chain first (one with a link, otherwise you have to split the motor to get the endless one around the crank). With new chain, and the "modifications" removed from the tensioner, you...

    CBR 600 F2

The tensioner itself shouldn't really wear out, it's usually the tensioner blades that do. Scrounge around on CBR forums - there were many many of those sold - great bike. They might be able to help find a source. Otherwise......did you ask honda about tensioner blades or the actual tensioner...

Life in New Zealand - The move has been made...

That park in the pic that you posted of ChCh above - is that were that Antarctic Museum is? I see to remember that there was a lot of damage to the old buildings in that massive earthquake that they had some years ago.

Life in New Zealand - The move has been made...

Ja that type of thing amazes me. An old friend (in his late 70's now) has been doing handyman work on the atlantic seaboard for years. Both of his sons married Danish women, and live over there. He has extended visits there frequently. On one of his first trips he did some electric and plumbing...

    Single cylinder 4 stroke revolutions

Is suspect that most 4t have a wasted spark, Very difficult for a ignition system to recognise whether the crank position tdc is on the firing stroke or the exhaust stroke. The crank position would be the same for both. Wasted spark might even help with emissions....tree huggers would be happy.

    Replacement for Etrex20

Thanks for this info. I used Maps.Me on recent Namibia trip. Worked like a charm. Distances were spot on, but travel time was waaaaaayyyyyyy off. (eg like 6.5hours for 120km type thing), but that's not what I was using it for, so no problem. It does default to main routes, but recalcs quite...

Is it the non-branded one? That's a pity. Wonder if they can be re-valved, or if that's even worth it?

Just remember the dampers damping depends on speed of movement. If you are moving it slowly by hand, there won't be much resistance = same as moving your handlebars side-to-side when standing still. If you lifted the wheel any ruk the bars quickly, it should damp / slow the movement.

This occupied rent free space in my brain over the weekend...... How are the seats installed / kept in place? Is it just a friction fit?

For the GS glamping brigade wanting to go the lighter bike route 😉

Hahah! That reminds me of the Midget's bike in Max the Panda's Angola trip...... https://wilddog.net.za/threads/ngola-kingdom-motorcycle-mis-adventures-in-south-west-angola.133427/page-3

Thanks - didn't realise that it was possible to replace the seat. If it was new valves, I would assume that the stem would have to be shorter than the original if nothing was done to the head / seat. Assume that that motor is high compression to have nailed the seats like that already, or very...
