Little House near the Mairie - My French Farmhouse.

So glad that there were people that had the time and passion to record history. It doesn't seem to be a "thing" these days.

Glad that you got the pellets working - that weather looks a tad chilly.

Little House near the Mairie - My French Farmhouse.

in the late 90's I was wondering around aimlessly in northern Thailand with my Finnish travel buddy. After a particularly big day on the beer in Chang Mai, we were wondering around looking for the next party. We stumbled (quite literally - did I mention lots of beer...) across a poster...

The Old School XRV750 Africa Twin Corner

Ja- you can actually get away with no choke in our climate. Fortunately @superfoxi had a bunch of the ali nuts made up at about the same time that my plastic one's called quits. I actually won a set at an AT gathering about 11 years ago........but cannot find trace of them. Choke cables also...

The Old School XRV750 Africa Twin Corner

:) - Ja, can imagine mechanics trying to answer questions about motors that very seldom have any issues. 67k, there's no chance that it can be cam chains or tensioners. If mine has been standing for a while, it usually starts up on one cylinder - doesn't sound great until the other fires up...

    That will buff right out.....

Ja- If I can have these one's repaired with any semblance of originality, I would keep any "new" one's that I find as spares. Problem is, out of all of the models......the 999 is probably the last one that you're going to find with a blown motor, or unrepairable.

    That will buff right out.....

Thanks - ja, I've used them for screens before. Very helpful and efficient bunch. I'm trying for OE parts - I have a thing about trying to keep these old bikes as standard as possible (but obviously lose the internal battle when it comes to lavishing some choice carbon bits on it ;)) Was a...

    That will buff right out.....

Thanks - must admit, I kakked myself when it happened - really thought that I was going down The bottom of the left faring wrapped around my leg when it let rip. I think the reason that I'm okayish with this damage is that my initial thought was that the motor had popped - I admit that I was...

My gat jeuk vir n Scooter

The club exists in Cape Town (and I think JHBG too) Vesparados. Some okes have done some wild things to motors........go like a bat out of hell

Where my biking started - race rep 400's - the GSXR and a shed ... now VFR

He does use some form of reaming tool to initiate the jet cleaning if they're totally blocked.

I wish that Superbike Surgeon oke on YouTube would share what his magic recipe is........seems to clean pretty much anything.

Where my biking started - race rep 400's - the GSXR and a shed ... now VFR

I actually found that soaking in Coca Cola chows away that stuff pretty well. The problem with the pilots is they are so small that if they're slightly blocked you can't get anything into them to dissolve the varnish / skunge....

The Old School XRV750 Africa Twin Corner

Lots of work! Looks to be the same model as mine. Those broken choke nuts would definitely have caused most of the symptoms that you describe. Not sure about the rattling sound - my last facet pump led me to believe that the gearbox was packing up before I realised that it was the pump that was...

    That will buff right out.....

Thanks - I've owned it for 15 years now - really enjoyable to ride.....and you can also just sit and stare with a glass of wine in hand. It's also the original 2003 - Pierre Terblanche original, before they changed various bits and bobs on subsequent models. I know Mile - he used to work down...

    That will buff right out.....

doubt very much that the parts are still available. 2003 model. I self insure quite a sum, so not really worth trying them. They might just write off as being non-viable to replace if they do get a quote.

    That will buff right out.....

I may, or may not, have been operating at around twice the national speed limit (kidding - of course I wasn't). Massive explosion - I thought that a rod or piston had exited the chat. When I managed to stop about a km or so down the road, I was greeted by this heartwarming sight. The bottom...
