Like the others say, not good for a long commute. I have fun on mine in the traffic to the office but that's less than 15km and no highway. I once rode her back from Durban in one day - I vibrated for weeks afterward :ROFLMAO: Supreme in the dirt though.

My 640 is a 2001 vintage and admittedly I don't do much mileage on her but have yet to experience these reliability issues.  I had issues with what KTM calls the starter bearing failing so had to use the stoopid left footed kick start until I fixed that.  On a long trip had the breather pop off...

Sounds unlikely. The important thing for prop shafts is that the universal joint faces remain parallel, angle of the shaft not so much. More likely is the design problem on the LC that lets water in but not out causing corrosion of the prop shaft. Sent from my LM-G810 using Tapatalk

Some good suggestions above. So difficult to diagnose over the internet! Check the easy stuff first.  Has it always done this since you've had it?  If not, what has changed? Going back to carb, and I'm not an expert but have fiddled with many Honda's carbs, it could be float level related, or...

What air filter are you running?  Is the air intake and air box standard? I'm guessing as I don't know, can't remember what carb the CBR runs but Hondas generally use the CV type carbs. These are sensitive to changing air pressure and don't like the air box being messed with and on some models...
