Some advice. Stay away from Martins Drift border that time of year, very busy. Rather use Zanzibar or Platjan, there is some dirt to contend with but these Border Posts are a breeze.

Yeap did it in 2004 over 3 weeks in Dec, all the way to Dar via Malawi and Zambia. only real issue with rain was on the way back from Dar. Hopefully rains are late and only really arrive after new years.
