He means between the airbox and rear mudguard, that's a big gap for dust to come through. Adding the foam sealing strip blocks it off completely👌🏻

The workshop manual states 18nm which feels way too loose. Did you tighten it just by feel rather? Plenty of things in the workshop manual that is very questionable
