I used Motul after the first rebuild. Failed with the Motul in it. The Motorex felt like it 'broke down' quicker than the Motul. I suspect they will use Motorex in the used engine they're installing now (well that is what they charged me for).

Only way to know is to open the valve cover and look at the cams, journals and followers. If buying used ask the seller if they are willing to have a dealership inspect it and offset that from the price. If it has a FSH with the dealers you have a better chance (although not guaranteed) that if...

Sounds like in house. However no reports of them failing as of yet. The big problem is that KTM knowingly made the decision to have it made according to their spec; in this case using substandard materials and specifically having it made to only 40 rockwell hardness. The only way to address this...

And the shit show continues. Coober being directly involved with KTM especially R&D, it tells you something if they are posting about it. This is on a 2024 990 Duke with less than 3000km. 'High quality components' had to be sarcasm🤣

Apparently new ones. The owner had to spend R25k to replace and rebuild the top end as it dropped a valve damaging one of the pistons

Update: I was forced to buy an used engine. 2019 model with roughly 7500-8000 km on it. The dealership can only complete the work on the 19th🤦‍♂️ I have to go through the re-registration process. Has anyone done this before and what's the procedure?

They've actually loaded the lower octane mapping on the ECU for these engines
