A friend of mine can get a KLR 650 with a busted engine at a very good price - any recommendations as to where he can search for a complete engine to replace the current one? Or maybe someone here has one to sell.....?

In short - his GS is a pain in the ass that he can do without.......

Never had to repair a puncture (touch wood) but what worries me more than repairing, how do you locate the hole on the roadside, especially if it is a smallish one that is not obviously visible? I have quite a serious hearing impairment, so listening for air escaping is not going to work for...

Check and set valve clearance as well as sync the throttle bodies. Had exactly the same surging symptoms on my bike after the hall sensor was repaired. Did the above and problem was sorted.

Just for interest, I did some adjustments to one of the prettiest ADV,s around today a proper bumble bee twin spark ADV, very rare in RSA,  so I then test rode it, pleasant but "slightly soft" gave the owner a ride on the GSV he came back raving about the way she pulls and the throttle...

Second dips on the low seat please - if Thwane doesn't take it.

Anyone in the West Rand/Krugersdorp area that rides a twin spark? I suspect a problem with one or both the Stick Coils and will appreciate it if we can do a quick swop to confirm. Apparently this is the best way to confirm if a coil is faulty.
