If you go self inflating have a look at Carma Quip. Locally manufactured and they make a hiking/motocamping mattress (Scout). But more pricey than some other brands, but we'll worth the extra expense.

I try to pack as if I'm going hiking, that way you keep the weight down nicely. Only extras is basically toolkit and one luxury item (Desert Fox chair).

I used to use the company issue backpack, but like @maxxis pointed out the straps interfere with the neckbrace. My wife got me the 30l Go-Gravel backpack last Christmas and so far that works wonderful. Also helps that it is a roll-top, so water ingress is not a worry.
