CF Moto 450 MT/IBEX coming to droomers in Cape Town

I went to have a look at the bike this afternoon and I'm very impressed. Fit, finish, overall style, everything is on point. As pointed out by virtually all reviewers the cockpit is a bit cramped, but you have the higher seat that solves that issue. Other than that I couldn't find anything...

CF Moto 450 MT/IBEX coming to droomers in Cape Town

The more I'm seeing if this bike, the more excited I get. Might very well have to retire the cockroach. Other than the slightly cramped seating position, which is fixed with the rally seat, I'm not finding anything not to like.

CF Moto 450 MT/IBEX coming to droomers in Cape Town

Awesome. After they allowing anyone to walk in off the top take it for a spin? On a sidenote, how's the seated ergo's? I'm also 1.78m tall.

Simplest, most Reliable Phone Map App Thing??

Ja, OSMAnd sucks at routing, hence the use of Brouter. I also add extra waypoints, but generally only two or three is needed to get a very good route. The example I posted above has no extra waypoints and still routed via the Darling railroad track. Just using OSMAnd's routing skips that...

Simplest, most Reliable Phone Map App Thing??

I'm aware of the setting, but by the OSMAnd developer's own admission it will stick to larger gravel roads. With Brouter you can get it to even follow footpaths.

Simplest, most Reliable Phone Map App Thing??

I've been using OSMAnd for a couple of years and prefer it for the options it gives you. Like most apps it will mostly try to keep you on paved roads, but there is a solution. Have a look at Brouter. Originally developed as a standalone routing app for mountain biking, but you can tweak it to...

First review of the 450MT that I would trust.

Ja, I guess my phrasing was a bit wrong. Wanted to know if anybody knew about this and whether it's worth it. You've answered most of my "questions". Thanks

CF Moto 450 MT/IBEX coming to droomers in Cape Town

As a weight watcher I'm definitely not going to argue about that. Still, the crap is something the market wants.

CF Moto 450 MT/IBEX coming to droomers in Cape Town

The problem with comparing this bike to the KTM or Honda is that those bikes are race bikes. Small tank, no (or limited) lights, highly strung, and not made for road use. To get them adventurised will cost you and by then you're probably looking at well over R200k. This bike is a small ADV and...

CF Moto 450 MT/IBEX coming to droomers in Cape Town

CF-Moto has been around for quite some time, 1986 I believe. They've also been in SA for a while, but this will be the first bike of theirs. Been quads and SxS tool now. They have dealers listed across the country, so I think parts availability would be quite good.

CF Moto 450 MT/IBEX coming to droomers in Cape Town

I've watched a couple of "reviews" from the launch of this bike in the Philippines and it does look tempting. 190kg wet weight is a bit much, but this is a parallel twin with quite a bit of extras. Really keen to take this for a spin.

Desert Fox helmets ...surely they can't be this price ?

I've been using the PC version for about 3 years and so far it is very good. Like KiLRoy said, the peak has a bit of a buzz to it at speed, but otherwise no complaints.

At last! Kawasaki listened to us!

What, and spoil the fun of having a project that suits unfinished in your garage for a couple of years until you sell it for parts.
