Linux = good choice. :thumleft: :thumleft: I use Kubuntu, but I think it might be a bit "heavy" for a netbook.  I would however suggest you look at the KDE photo manager, DigiKam.  Very nice with some very good light-table features.  Picasa isn't half-bad as well, although the editing functions...
