book speck is 10W50 ( book for European temps) correct oil for our temp range is 10W60

ran my 950 on Castrol to start with but found that the motor got noisy at higher temps, , every one will have their opinion on oils much like tyres, put in the best full synthetic oil you can afford, also remember the recommended oil for our temps on the 950 is 10W-60 not 10W-40

No this is still the 2017 spec , that has the uprated HP and the better cam shaft. I should not have sold my one , I miss the hooligan thing about it every now and again , sorry to hijack good luck with the sale , nice looking bike.

If you coming from a 300 , there is no other choice than a 990S/R , in my humble opinion , and spares are freely available and are as expensive as any other bike out there.

950 best bike out of the range , if you have done the new tensioners , get the newer tensioner caps , they push the tensioner in a bit deeper , my 950 S was the best bike and most fun I have owned , no electronic shit to spoil your day.

motor turns normal but bike does not start when cold , once it has run for 30 sec it starts as normal. if bump started cold- it starts immediately and runs as normal. once warm the bike runs normally with plenty of power and no flat spots.

its got that mod extra cable mod on it already, never had a starting problem with the bike, in the cold or ever even with the old battery and the old slow starter it always started , then all of a sudden nothing.
