V8 Moto Guzzi 500cc at TT

I have seen it authoritatively stated that the limiting factor for that bike was the narrow rear tyre in particular.  Riders were aware of it & asked that a wider tyre be fitted but the design guys were of the opinion that that would increase the rolling resistance & thereby detract from the...

    How Harley-Davidson Killed Itself

In that initial video I was very interested to learn how the directors massaged the EPS number by buying back shares.  Rising EPS is a coarse measure of how well a company is doing so the rising EPS resulted in rising share price.  Directors got big bonuses tied to the share price performance. ...

    Surprize in Slovenia

I saw a pair of Ner-A-Cars in a museum in Sheffield, UK.  They were actually produced under licence in England from the American originators. Many thanks for the comprehensive photo & info you provided. Wiki:

    BSA 1970 Royal Star

The clutch is in the primary drive casing.  The gearbox has its own oil so the clutch is separate from the gearbox oil.  If that is true then you can add MolySlip to the gearbox oil (any decent molybdenum disulphide oil additive).  That should make the gear changing easier and the box quieter. ...

In Cape Town the place I go to for any tubing is Hosefit in Paarden Eiland.  Google seems to say they have no Gauteng branch.

The hips of that frog amaze me. Getting that generator running again without stripping it impresses me greatly.

How about making a complete replacement sieve the modern way.  Using Pratleys to attach the gauze to some aluminium rings.  Will serve as a template for a long term one later.  If it has problems then nothing much losy.

So I bought a milling machine - Now with DRO

Double angle cutter but it will cost you Alternative but again not cheap.  https://www.liveauctionworld.com/Tungaloy-30Degree-Indexable-Milling-Cutter-P-N-ECC31005RU-30_i29699666 So your fly cutter idea seems the way to go for a one off job.

You are totally mistaken. The Yaskawa does exactly that - single phase in 3 phase out.  I have seen lots of Yaskawa VFD converters as they are the preferred make where ever I have been. https://www.yaskawaindia.in/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/v1000-tech-en.pdf They have sold 10 million of them ...

So I bought a milling machine - Now with DRO

I fail to understand why a VFD will not work with this motor. You set it to the Delta configuration.  When connected to the mains it receives 50Hz 3 phase supply & it runs at 1440 or 2880 RPM because of the 50Hz supply (speed dependent on 2 pole or 4 pole winding). Now you connect it to the VFD...

That Polish home made lift - the screw is special.  It is not a piece of threaded bar.  It has square or Acme threads which are MUCH better for that application.  Zog, that is the sort of screw you need if you are going to make a scissors work table.

Bloodhound diary: Planned for testing in 2020!! Where will you be......?

I do know it was once held by Bob Oltoff in a Ford Galaxy (I am not certain about that - he raced a Galaxy) set on a public road in the Free State.  That was way back in the 60's

How strong is the roof?  Otherwise a beam across the top of the walls.  Then a rope & pulley system to raise the mower & table top with the legs hinged at both ends (to floor & under table) so you pull it up at an angle till it goes past vertical & then lower it a bit when the legs lock.

    HELP WITH LOCKTITE BOLTS

To keep the heat really local heat up a torx driver with gas till red hot.  Poke it into the torx on the bike.  Keep it there a short while then remove & loosen the now hot torx in the bike with another cold torx driver.

You may have cried as you used the credit card but, to me, it was money really well spent.  It makes a dramatic difference to the room.  The flooring itself made a really dramatic difference to your house (when compared to the old Heinz 57 Varieties coloured carpet). Things that serve you...

In your case is it not best to do without supressors.  Supressors were introduced in the days of AM radio to stop the terrible interference spark ignition caused on the radio signal.  It was nothing to do with improving the sparking of the plug.  It was all about good neighborliness.

That surprises me.  You are at high altitude.  But the bike lived & worked there before.  Is the needle in the same position as when you got it?  Should it not be in the lowest position as compensation for the high altitude (assuming that the standard jet is applicable up there)?
