    Tenere 34L fettling

Otherwise maybe use a nut & bolt - but tack-weld the nut onto the bolt at the top side, then spin the whole lot in your drill while you "sand" the OD (hex) of the nut down with your angle grinder until it fits the access hole? Essentially creating the same shape as the original installation tool?

Nice fix! What thread locker do use to hold these in place? Assuming you do, I mean?

Bikes that have escaped the legend tax

Controversial, that air-shock, indeed. @Dean77 has one (or even 2) with air-shocks, and has no issue, likes them even - as do various other members here. Mine arrived with a replacement M2P adjustable on the rear, and I like it a lot - cant see why I would ever change it. The front could always...

BMW G650 X-Challenge Not many made, those that have them love them and swear by them, light, powerful enough, good suspenion generally, LIGHT (144kg odd) And yet never really did anything in SA - R40k will get you a decent one - in Europe they cost E5000-E7000!!!

    CE Armour Pads useless???

Must admit, I use the hard armor instead of the soft CE - much bulkier, and probably more restrictive, but kneeling in gravel is no problem!

Quick afternoon ride from Chimes Benoni to Grutte Bush pub in Nigel

Chimes - funny, we were talking about it on the weekend, we used to go there with the quad-bikes 20 years ago - we decided the zama-zama's would make it unpleasant now - whats it actually like now tho? From a safety point of view? Oh - any chance you could send me the gos tracks - I would be...

So - about that funny engine noise in my X-Challenge....

Yeah, just have to get my mind around opening the motor again - to get the XC motor out, you have to remove the rear swingarm, fuel tank, rear subframe and one side of the chassis member - its really not easy to even get to the engine out stage...... The shear volume of work can make one...

So - about that funny engine noise in my X-Challenge....

Hmm - pleasantly surprised - R9800 for all the parts - including a new Sprag Clutch and a full set of pressure & wear plates for my clutch and all the gaskets required to rebuild the motor - not bad actually!!

Oh - the valve gaps are still perfect tho!

So - about that funny engine noise in my X-Challenge....

Indeed - the rail is a hard plastic, so the gears will be fine - but the shrapnel is likely to clog stuff up and cause k@k further up the line.....
