my 390 adv battery has been on the way out for quite a while now, & is now completely dead.
since i have relocated, & my garage is now at the bottom of the hill, instead of at the top, bumpstarting is not really an issue.
my problem is that the key to open the seat & get access to the battery...
i think that the milage may well be 18,000 miles?
it is a mph speedo with a sticker to show kms, so i think the odo is probably mph as well.
possibly an imported bike then?
i had an older, imported car a few years back with a similar speedo. odo was miles.
you may want to head over to avforums.co.za?
they have a very active diy area, with lots of very knowledgable speaker builders.
i am not one of them...
but if it is in between cold & warm, then just leave it alone, go & have a couple of cups of coffee, & let it cool down...
actually, for me, 1st kick cold was never a problem. just turn it over slowly twice with the kickstarter before starting.
a little bit late to reply i guess.
shortly after moving to centurion i bought an mx6. after a few months, the charge light was coming on, & the battery was flat in the mornings.
i asked a friend of a friend who recommended carnetics.
very impressive looking place. very professional, & very...
i had a dr600 in the mid 90s.
i'm about as far from a chuck norris as you can get, but i loved that big, heavy, clumsy bike. 😋
i limped for the 1st 6 months until i figured out the kickstart process. :ROFLMAO:
eye contact doesn't seem to work so much any more..
i had an incident where someone in a can was looking straight at me, but continued changing lanes...
the fender of his car was in contact with my knee & pushing me across the lane, before i took evading action.
some really good tips in this...
my understanding has always been that the rotary / reed valve depends on the application.
rotary can produce more power, but is better suited for road going / racing type applications, where the engine tends to run at higher revs for longer periods.
the reed valve is better suited in...
all kind of wild..
but i love the enthusiasm, & the fact that it apparently makes the racing so accessible. i'm sure the mods to get those speeds are not cheap, but i think they are way cheaper than big bikes / cars?
& of course the sound of 2 strokes is just great. i can almost smell the methanol.😊
did he mention the giant 50 foot long sharks they used to see from the air?
i thought it was bs at the time, but after seeing a documentary about megaladon (not the hollywood movie..) i'm not so sure.
nice. are they rebuilding to get it airborne again?
i was at rooikop in the early 80's - used to love watching them land & take off.
take off was a bit scary though - they did have to abort occasionally if they didn't manage to get enough speed.
back in the 80's my dt175 was dangerously unroadworthy.
so no license for me - just repeated learners every 6 months...
would ride to the testing center unlicensed, then do the test, & go home more or less legal.:ROFLMAO:
after my dt was stolen (a fate that befell every single dt175 owner i knew...
i did a bit of browsing on this.
seems that they are not happy about vehicle software which is connected to companies in china.
i am kind of puzzled that an offroad bike would be connected. also what could the chinese government possibly gain - blackmail a wild dog with evidence that he is in...
