Hi Chili Dog, the XL500S (twin shock) was only made till 1981. In 1982 it was the XL500R (Pro-Link). So just make sure of the model, it might have only been registered the 1st time in 1983.

All the filters are the same. Sparkplugs might be different from 1150 models with twinspark and stickcoils.

2 pieces of foam similar to those in the pictures of the previous post were standard in the toolbox when new. Without the seat the locking clip in the toolbox should be used to lock the lid. I also use a small rox strap acoss. Standard panier rails are usefull for this.

Petri, die fast idle is nie soos 'n gewone choke nie. Dit trek net die throttle 'n bietjie oop. Al die kabels kom bymekaar in 'n houer onder die tenk. Myne het ook partykeer vasgehaak maar teruggetrek sodra jy die throttle draai.

Dis maar net omdat my 1100 dieselfde plaat gehad het! Dit is hoe die plaat aan die linkerkant lyk.

Op die foto van die regterkant lyk dit soos die plaat wat BMW verkoop het. Ek het dit destyds by BMW gekoop. Neem ook foto vanaf die agterwiel se kant. Op die foto van die linkerkant is die crashbar in die pad om te sien of die plaat daar is. BMW se ontwerp was anders as die van Touratech.

Dis reg, die swartplaat onder die bracket waaraan die footpeg en briekpedaal is. Jy sal sien aan die bokant vou dit 90 grade en die bout gaan deur dit en die subframe tot in die ratkas casing.
