Life in America - We made the move.

Yes, much excitement... So Saturday night around 8pm there were at least 4 cop cars up on the corner, about 100m from us. I saw them looking in the empty lot with torches. Didn't know what they were looking for, so I listened in on the police scanner - it's an online service, all radio waves...

Tom, what size motors are on those augers? Look like about 5HP? Single phase I guess? They are also what we call TEFC motor - Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled. This means that there is a small fan at the back of the motor that blows air over those fins on the body to cool it. So keeping that dust...

Life in America - We made the move.

Today while sitting down for lunch I noticed a Black Racer snake making it's way through the veggie garden. It disappeared into the ferns, but a few minutes later I saw it climbing up the orange tree, and then making it's way into the guava tree. After lunch I went out and took a couple of pics...

Life in America - We made the move.

I don't post a lot here any more, mainly because I don't usually have anything "new" to post. But anyways, here goes. So Saturday morning Mrs Zog and I went off to see a SA friend of mine who owns a jewellery store. Mrs Zog has some old pieces of jewellery that she wants to have repaired...

Life in America - We made the move.

I meant to post this Sunday evening, but then I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole again. Eish. My weekend was busy, as usual, with chores and stuff. I did a bunch of pruning and cutting back of the Coral Creeper on the West fence. It got so heavy that the fence was being pushed over, so it has to...

$12 for a sarmie isn't that bad a price, especially if it comes with fries. I regularly pay $8 to $10 for a sarmie at the Wawa gas station near my office. Yes, its freshly made and good quality, but still food is expensive in the US.
