Is is possible to repair, or at least service, a Penta exhaust? Came with the fugly but it's now in need of servicing. Unable to reach vendor? Any ideas?

Any advice on cracked rear master cylinder connector?

The plastic connector on the rear master cylinder (#13159) is cracked and needs to be replaced. What are the chances of finding a spare one for sale? Do I otherwise have to order one?

    KLR carb pilot screw

Great, thanks. So, the carb can function without the 0-ring? Presumably not as efficient as it should? Really apprecaite the advice!

    KLR carb pilot screw

Part 2 of my query: Is it possible for the carb to operate if there is no O-ring and washer (part of the airscrew assembly)? Reason I ask is that I can't find - or see with torch - either the O-ring or washer? I know I haven't removed it accidentally.. The slide/needle mod appears to have been...

    KLR carb pilot screw

I removed the pilot screw without counting the turns.  ::) Is there a set of turns? How do I know if the O-ring is intact?

    colour of frame

With the airbox out and the subframe off, it's a good time to touch up the frame of the fugly. Can't see a thread about the paint code for a 2007 fugly, and the GF's pantone chart shows some possibilities ) see pics #428, # 429, #877 U. But a code would be so much easier. Is there one?

    indicator trouble shooting

Eish, this is maddening... So, I've worked out that the indicator circuit comprises three wires - grey, orange and green. After much fumbling and probing (thanks Eberhard  ;) , it seems the green wire that, with the grey wire, runs the RH side indicators, is dead. I've removed the female and...

    what now? Indicator trouble shooting

To make a long story short, I've been battling to solve a mystery indicator problem on the 2007 KLR. All the other electrics work, including the horn and headlight dim/bright switches on the same assembly. The globes are all OK, and the earth connections seems good. I unplugged the harness and...

    indicator trouble shooting

Thanks Eberhard. So, I've bridged the indicator switch at the handlebar, nothing at all. I then disconnected the indicator/hooter/dim&bright headlamp switch assembly harness and bridged the connections. Now, the right hand indicators flicker properly, but no action from the indicastors on the...

    indicator trouble shooting

The indicators stopped working and I hope it's not the switch on the left handle bar that's the problem. I've checked the connection under the fairing, bulbs are all OK, and I've even replaced the flasher unit, to no avail. All the other electrics are working, including the hooter button on...

Sorry, read it wrong, thought you meant the brake pads, not disc. Hope you came right.

Find a friendly dealer, not necessarily Kawa, take them with, and match them to discs that will fit.

    Choke cable advice please

Thanks, I removed the carb with the choke cable attached, much easier that way to get to that #$π¢℅£% plastic nut. Original problem was that the cable was pinched between the frame and the  bracket for the radiator reservoir.

    Choke cable advice please

I noticed something wrong with the choke cable and discovered that the cable is not sliding free in the casing. I'm trying to loosen it with penetrating oil, but no luck. Worse case scenario is having to replace it and from previous experience, removing the nut that attached the cable to the...
