Well I'm Currently in Ethiopia, Addis in fact and made it from jhb in 10 days.. That's Lso not the most direct way but passing all 3 great lakes for a swim on the way. 1190r has been amazig. Yes one day lots of mud and crashes and picking up 240kgs of bike ain't easy but managed in the end...
