Thanks guys, that is hugely helpful!  And one other question - what is the visa situation in crossing the border at Namibia/Botswana?  Will rental motorcycle insurance cover me there? Also, any must-see/must-do roads?  I like dirt, mountains and ocean.    :)

Also, I'm a 30yo white male from Canada. Expectations are that I want to "get away" as much as possible--beautiful scenery and fun dirt roads are my desire, with safety considered.
