    Ongeluksnek border post open ???

Has anyone been up to Lesotho via Ongeluks lately. Very tempted to go up on Wednesday next week and wondered if the border post is operating. Last time I came down it took 2 hours of hooting and shouting to find someone to open the gate.

What the InReach is good for is to send messages to loved ones like 'reached camp safely' but I'd be nervous to rely on it if I'm in a real tight spot. They simply don't seem to be geared for Africa. I'm sure if you had a ski accident in Europe you'd have a chopper in minutes.

    Dunlop D 606 or Pirelli MT 21?

Tried then all and always revert back to the MT21. can push them to the edge on tar and they gave way more confidence on dirt than the 606. (606 is great on the rear) The E13 handled off-road the best but the two I tried both cracked badly when run soft (1-1.2 bar)

My Kove 450 Rally February 2024

April can't come soon enough. Looking forward to seeing the bike on the Wild Coast and Lesotho trip. Must admit I haven't looked forward to seeing a new model this much since my MB-5 Bobcat in 1980.

Hi, Needing some advise on taking bikes to and from Tanzani. We're a big group riding up to Arusha (Tanzania) through Zim, Zambia, Malawi and then Tanzania. Advice needed? * Do we need carne's for the trip? * Is it possible to get 'fixers' to help speed up border crossings? And how do you...

Parking in or near Ceres needed.

Does anyone have space for us to park a couple of cars and trailers for 2 nights towards the end of August? Trying to avoid the long schlep to and from Cape Town on small bikes. Cheers, John
