I found a complete kick start assembly on Ebay and bought it. Would be nice to have a kick starter as a backup.

So, the engine has an oversized piston in already (0.5 over). Oil ring is toast. Suzuki can not supply rings only, it is a Suzuki part. 1 over piston has been discontinued by Suzuki. Going the Woessner route now. Still waiting on the verdict of the head. The repair of the broken out bit on the...

That would be nice. Waiting on the report from the engineering shop.

Busy scheming...

Disassembly done. No step in the barrel. Everything was well oiled... Valves hold petrol. hopefully only need a good lapping. Oil ring looks a bit collapsed.

It is a lot, had to top off every 50km. But I bought the bike knowing the top end needed work. So let the fun begin. Start to strip after work.

A LOT of oil but I knew this. Looking forward to rebuild the top end. It is a lekker bike.

But I like camping too. ( busy working on my split personality).

It has electric start. Starts ok. If I find some time tomorrow, I take the head, barrel and piston off to have them checked and measured.

Compression test. Hmm.....

Remember to leave the friction plates to soak in oil before assembly.
