What year model do they claim it is? The pics of the left side are too unclear to see much. I would guess 2003/4, it looks like it has a hydraulic clutch but I can't see the left footpeg. On those year models, the left has a different clevis than the right. I see it has a sidestand and center...

Even the ones made of cheese are tough when you have to to hammer them back into shape  8) Everyone rates Excell the best. I prefer DID. Those old Hondas had them, and they are tough!

Did you replace the head bolts with new ones? I had a 1600 Passat like that, and first time the head gasket blew I did not replace the (stretch) bolts. Was very cash strapped,,,,,,well, couple of months later I had to do it again.

No man, that exhaust is way too long. Wish I had the time to find some old pics. Melting a flicker or number plate is not the end of the world, bikes all looked like that  8)

I have had good results with a dumb charger. Initially I just apply the voltage for a few seconds, and wait a minute or two. After doing that a few times the voltage gets close to the charger output, and you keep it on longer. I have also used a Ctek, but that is dodgy and erratic.

Just a wild guess: Maybe the needle & seat is passing. When the vent is open, the bowl floods (too rich to start).

What year model? The foot pegs (particularly the left) changed completely between 2003/2004. But sorry. can't help you  ::)
