The current oil has about 2300km and is 3 months old. Is that correct? Good to see an improvement. I bought the oil filter kit and 4L of oil the other day so I'm going to change mine soon. What does it cost for the oil analysis?

🙄My shock was sent to TBR for repair and they said there was nothing wrong, they replaced the seal with the pro version or so I’m told. I can’t see where the oil could have come from. There was definitely lots of oil on the swing arm but who knows.

Just returned from a nice 9-day 3000km trip and guess what my newly repaired rear shock pissed all the oil out again. We were in Lady Grey on our way to Clarens when I noticed the oil had leaked out, so I had to live with it for the last 2 days.

The problem with using adhesive tape like insulation/duct tape is that if it lifts slightly and gets dust under it becomes sandpaper and that can cause more damage. A clear protective film like the 3M one may work.

Is there an oil strainer in the frame below that? Like the one on an XT 500. If there is then it's likely that trying to drill the broken stud out will cause it to turn itself in and fall into the frame. You can then loosen the strainer off and clean all the bits out.

I agree to a point, a phantom load may be intermittent causing the battery to discharge only when the fault occurs. I find it strange that the bike sometimes starts in the morning but then doesn't start after a short break and that two batteries have had very similar issues would make me look...

Do you have anything you have added on the bike that use the ACC 1 or 2 that are found under the seat or in the dash? It sounds like something is draining your battery, maybe a USB plug or GPS.

I think it's a step in the right direction and quite honestly if anyone expected a full recall you are just dreaming. No company in their right mind would expose itself to the costs of recalling so many motorcycles, the labor alone just for inspections could be crippling. I'm not condoning KTM's...

This one sounds like someone may have smoked something before he posted it, wouldn't surprise me those Americans are a bit weird. :p😵‍💫 It's likely that the extra pressure on the follower occurred when the piston met the valve due to the lobe moving. :devilish:

Got my bike back over the weekend and although I haven't been off-road, yet it handles the speed bumps like a champ. :cool: I think I'm going to be happy with the new spring and re-valving.

I’m embarrassed to say it’s only got 5000km on the clock. 😔 My 790’s shock also pissed out all it’s oil but strangely enough it was at KTM for a service when it happened.
